A wedding on the Bosphorus, ceremony and reception on one yacht
A yacht wedding is a real option in Istanbul because the Bosphorus is genuinely beautiful as a backdrop — not a gimmick. The ceremony happens on the forward deck with the city skyline behind the couple. The reception moves through the cruise: dinner during the sail up the European side, first dance under the Bosphorus Bridge with its lights reflecting in the water, and the cake cut as the boat returns along the Asian shore.
The yacht accommodates up to 12 guests for an intimate wedding — the arrangement works best for small weddings (couple plus close family and friends) rather than large receptions. Larger group sizes are possible on request with a different vessel.
What’s included in the base €364 yacht charter: the boat for 3 hours, captain and crew, soft drinks and Turkish canapés, and basic floral decoration for the ceremony deck. Added packages (priced separately) cover: catering from a dedicated wedding menu, photography and videography, live musician or DJ, officiant (for symbolic ceremonies), customized floral designs, and cake. A wedding coordinator is assigned to every booking.
Legal weddings in Turkey require paperwork through the district municipality and a notarized translator for non-Turkish couples — we can coordinate this but the legal ceremony happens at the municipality office before boarding. Symbolic/celebratory ceremonies onboard don’t have legal status and don’t require paperwork.
Who this is for: couples having a small destination wedding, or those who already legally married and want a symbolic ceremony in Istanbul. If you want just a celebration meal without the ceremony, see wedding anniversary.
Practical: book 2–4 weeks ahead for full coordination. Dress code for the deck in wind — the forward platform can get breezy, a secure hairstyle is a good idea.
