Hagia Sophia (Exterior Visit)
Admire the magnificent Hagia Sophia from the outside while the guide walks you through its 1500-year transformation — Byzantine basilica, imperial mosque, museum, and mosque again.
Byzantine Hippodrome
The political and social centre of Constantinople. The Egyptian Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpent Column brought from Delphi after the Greco-Persian wars, and the German Fountain.
Blue Mosque
Inside the Sultan Ahmed Mosque — six minarets, Iznik tilework, the cascading domes. (Closed Friday mornings during prayer; we adjust the order on that day.)
Lunch Break
Traditional Turkish meal at a local restaurant in the Old City.
Golden Horn Drive
Along the natural harbour that was Constantinople’s main port — past Fener and Balat, the old Greek and Jewish quarters that you can see from the water.
Pierre Loti Hill & Cable Car
A short cable car up to the hilltop café once frequented by the French writer Pierre Loti, with one of the best panoramic views over the Golden Horn and Old City.
Bosphorus Cruise
The day ends on the water. Sail between Europe and Asia, past wooden mansions, marble palaces and waterfront neighbourhoods.
