Daylight changes what the Bosphorus actually is. The night cruises turn it into a postcard of lights on black water. At lunchtime you see the strait for what it is — a working waterway, with tankers and ferries moving past, commuter boats crossing continents every fifteen minutes, and fishermen along the shore. The palaces look different in sun: Dolmabahçe’s marble is genuinely white, Rumeli Fortress’s walls are honey-coloured, and Beylerbeyi Palace on the Asian side catches a glare that it never does at night.
Boarding is at midday. The cruise lasts about two hours. Lunch is served during the sail — mezes, a grilled main (chicken or fish, with a vegetarian option on request), rice, salad, and fresh fruit. Soft drinks included; beer and wine by request.
The route goes up the European side past the Galata area, Dolmabahçe, Ortaköy Mosque and up toward the second bridge, then returns along the Asian shore past Kuleli, Kandilli and Kız Kulesi (Maiden’s Tower). An English-speaking guide explains what you’re seeing.
Who this is for: families with young children who’d rather have lunch than a late dinner, travellers sensitive to evening motion sickness (daylight sailings are calmer), people combining the cruise with a city tour later the same day. If you want the skyline-at-night version, see the dinner cruise. If you want lunch plus a guided land tour of both continents, see the Two Continents combination.
Practical: sunscreen if it’s summer — the upper deck gets direct sun. Sunglasses help for photography off the bright water.
Two-hour shared lunch cruise on the Bosphorus. Boarding at midday; Turkish mezze lunch served during the sail past Dolmabahçe, Ortaköy and Rumeli Fortress. From €45 per person — English-speaking guide, calmer daylight sailing suitable for families.
Open buffet lunch with traditional Turkish cuisine, live guided commentary, and a stop at Anadolu Kavagi fishing village. Soft drinks, tea, and coffee included.
The entire experience is approximately 4.5 hours including the cruise and the stop at Anadolu Kavagi.
Yes, it is one of our most family-friendly options. Children enjoy the boat ride and the village stop. Kids eat free under a certain age.
You will see the entrance to the Black Sea from Anadolu Kavagi hilltop, but the cruise itself stays within the Bosphorus Strait.
The lunch is included in the package. However, if you have dietary restrictions, let us know and we will accommodate your needs.
